CARLY OTNESS. PHOTOGRAPHER. STORYTELLER.
Carly Otness has been a storyteller her whole life and made her first underground magazine at age 13. As a Photographer, Carly actually operates a lot more like a Cinematographer of Stills – seeing everything in the frame as a character in the larger story. She knows how to focus on often overlooked details to bring out the grit + soul of whatever or whoever she’s shooting.
As a Photographer, Carly has an unorthodox, renegade shooting style – she intentionally uses minimal gear so she’s fast, flexible, and free to capture a moment as it plays out in real time.
The result is: Carly gets high-end aesethetic, artful shots, without the intimidating vibe of restrictive sets. Her photos are meant to capture you as you really are. As someone who has shot everywhere from the high fashion world of NY, to fast-paced Michelin Star kitchens, to ringside at a Boxing match in Cambodia – Carly knows how to notonly shoot in ANY lighting condition – she also knows how to capture the story without gettingin the way.
When not taking photos, Carly is traveling the world, collecting + hammering out stories for her upcoming novel.
